Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

Incredible! Full of gripping descriptions and story lines and plot twists, you can't help but be drawn into Pip's world and ultimately his folly. As it is written in his view you learn what he learns when he learns it, there is never really a point when you don't believe wholeheartedly in what Pip is undertaking. It goes to show that what we expect from our own expectations is not always what we will receive. There are some wordy parts that I found didn't make a whole lot of sense, such as his description of the theatre, but ultimately it is a real painting with words. And the hopeless romantic in me is thoroughly glad Dickens changed the ending to what it is now!
